What fat transfer entails

Although some areas on your body where you might like a boost are fairly obvious, such as your breasts or buttocks, you may also choose to have fat transferred to other parts of your body. If you are, they will tell you how long the fat transfer process will take. This is often highly individual based on how much fat you have removed and where you will put it. This is usually all done in one procedure, so you don’t have to worry about going under anesthesia multiple times.
After the procedure, some side effects are normal. These include the following:
- Bruising
- Swelling
- Pain
You should expect these side effects to go away over time. However, you’ll need to wear compression garments after the surgery to help reduce the swelling and bruising.
How long until you can resume normal activities

You should avoid smoking before the procedure as well as after it. There are plenty of good reasons to quit smoking, so you could let your procedure be extra motivation!
You also must not have any circulation problems, as poor circulation will impair your healing process.
After about six weeks after the procedure, you can stop wearing compression garments and return to normal exercise levels. However, your skin will continue to shrink and tighten for several months.
