About VI Peels
Advanced Plastic Surgery Center in Arlington, VA is pleased to offer professional VI Peels for the face, hands, neck, and chest. There are a variety of peels that have different depths and utilize different ingredients to target specific skin concerns. Light peels, which usually incorporate an alpha-hydroxy acid such as glycolic acid, are safe for all skin types. They provide less dramatic results, but they are gentler and often require little to no recovery time. Medium to deep peels often incorporate a combination of salicylic acid, TCA, phenol, retinol, and other alpha- and beta-hydroxy acids to provide more dramatic results and require longer recovery time. If you are interested in rejuvenating your tired or dull skin and diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, call our cosmetic office today to schedule an appointment with plastic surgeon Dr. Talal Munasifi.

Types of VI Peels
Advanced Plastic Surgery Center offers the following VI Peels:
Vitality VI Peel
The Vitality VI peel is a combination of phenol, retinol, TCA, and salicylic acid, and Vitamin C. It's a medium peel that rejuvenates your skin, creating a soft, supple complexion. It also renews collagen and elastin, and it can improve a wide variety of mild to moderate skin conditions. This VI Peel can also be used on the hands, neck, chest, and other parts of the body.
Vitality VI Peel Purify
The Vitality VI Peel Purify formula consists of benzoyl peroxide and kojic acid to purify acne-prone skin and improve mild to moderate acne in as little as seven days after your first treatment. This formula also includes hydrocortisone to help calm redness and soothe acne-inflamed skin. Patients will also receive a post-procedure care take-home kit with this treatment.
Vitality VI Peel Precision
This is the strongest of our peels. This formula uses higher concentrations of the ingredients found in the Vitality VI peel for a 25% stronger treatment. It refreshes your skin to create a smooth, youthful complexion. It also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, and is best for treating hyperpigmentation, melasma, acne scarring, sun spots, and more. This peel is safe and effective for the hands, neck, chest, and other parts of the body.
VI Peel Precision Plus
This formula retains the strength of the Vitality VI Peel Precision and adds hydroquinone and kojic acid for improving moderate to severe hyperpigmentation. This peel also addresses acne scars and improves fine lines and wrinkles on harder-to-treat, mature skin. You can have a VI Peel Precision Plus as often as every 4 – 6 weeks.

What to Expect
Each patient's recovery process will look different and will depend on the type of VI peel you received, the location of the treatment, and the number of areas treated. Typically, your skin will begin to peel two days after your session. You can expect to experience moderate peeling for 3 – 4 days, with results developing within 5 – 7 days. It's important to allow the skin to peel naturally, as pulling off the dead skin may result in scarring or pain. VI peels can be received every 4 – 6 weeks and although great outcomes are seen after just one treatment, we usually recommend multiple sessions to maintain your results.
