About Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty refers to a procedure that reduces the length of the labia minora. It is the most commonly performed vaginal rejuvenation procedure and it can relieve symptoms women experience from twisting and tugging of the labia. Women opt for labiaplasty for many reasons, including pain during activities such as riding a bike or intercourse, self-consciousness, or irritation and itching.
What To Expect
During your complimentary consultation Dr. Munasifi or Dr. Economides will review your medical history and examine you to determine if labiaplasty is suitable for you. The procedure lasts approximately 30 minutes and can be performed under local anesthesia in the comfort and discretion of the office or with light sedation and general anesthesia in the operating room. Extra tissue is surgically removed so that the labia minora do not protrude past the hair-bearing labia majora. Sutures are absorbable and do not have to be removed. Patients may return to wearing tampons and intimacy in 4-6 weeks.
