About Submental Liposuction
Submental liposuction is a targeted treatment to the area immediately under the jaw aimed at improving jawline and chin contour. This treatment is suitable for patients with moderate submental/chin fat and mild to moderate skin laxity.
What To Expect
During your complimentary consultation Dr. Munasifi or Dr. Economides will review your medical history, your aesthetic goals, and examine the area of concern to determine if submental liposuction is suitable for you. The treatment lasts approximately 30 – 45 minutes. Small incisions (1/4”) are made under the chin and sometimes behind the ear and are well hidden. Local anesthesia is administered to the treatment area to allow for numbing prior to liposuction treatment. Once numb, a liposuction cannula is introduced and fat is removed from under the chin. A compression bandage is applied and should remain in place until your postoperative visit for evaluation. General anesthesia is not necessary and patients may go home the same day.
